*Online* Seed Saving for Beginners

About this Workshop

Seeds are a precious and beautiful. Not only they are essential to growing most vegetables, they are also a source of food. Most vegetables start with a seed but not all seeds are created equal. This workshop will introduce you to the wonderful world of seeds, from understanding where seeds come from to digging into the biology of seeds and learning how to save seeds your favorite vegetables.

About the Instructor

Mel Sylvestre has been a small-scale organic producer for 15 years. She integrated seed production in her growing practices about 10 years ago and has since then been exploring the wonderful world of seed saving. She created the Seed Hub program at UBC Farm and is a founding member of the BC Eco Seed Co-op. She is passionate about seed saving and she loves to share her passion with others.
